Soul Tie- A Poem, By Alexia Jasmene

The blooming of flowers signals the rebirth of change,

But your distance from me is far on this physical plane.

Through digital platforms we trick our brains,

But it’s not the same as the feeling of your touch..

But then I begin to feel things, 

Not of my mind, 

And wonder if I’m losing touch, 

Or just enveloped in love. 

I give some distance 

And we check in, 

Those feelings align with yours,

Allowing my fear to melt.

Once we met again,

Your energy was guarded,

Full of fear to reconnect,

But then moments of clarity and ease outweigh all doubt.

One moment of touch,

Feeling like yours was mine 

And mine was yours, 

Was to overwhelm

And I was not surprised 

That you once again chose to hide...

Our time apart,

I could feel the sun and the energy of the sea, 

Though clouds and a breeze that chilled were my surrounding reality. 

We had a soul tie, 

An unbreakable bond, 

But I have a choice, 

To be selfish and hold tighter than my life,

Or let you go so you can fly.

Though distance is far 

And will be for so for some time, 

I wish you well and hope you heal,

Not knowing if our connection will stay,

Or fade.
